Our Mission
For the Love of Primates is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to create and support a sanctuary for primates retired from research, used in the entertainment industry, or previously kept as “pets”.
"The least I can do is speak out for those who cannot speak for themselves.”
— Jane Goodall
Non-human primates are incredibly intelligent and social wild animals with complex environmental and behavioral needs. Even the most well-intentioned caregivers can not meet these needs and the individuals under their care often suffer long-term consequences. In the wild, monkeys and apes typically live in social groups. When kept as pets, or for entertainment purposes, they live isolated from other members of their species. It is our goal to create a sanctuary that will provide the comprehensive care that non-human primates require and give them the most enriched environment possible to call home for the rest of their lives.
