Melissa Renner, MPH
board vice president
Melissa Renner has been passionate about primates since her earliest memories. Her very first poster on her wall as a child was in fact, a primate, a chimpanzee to be exact. This passion has directed her in her philanthropic efforts as well. Melissa is a member of the Educational Foundation of America's Adjunct Committee and is committed to lifelong philanthropy, volunteering, and learning. Academically, Melissa holds an MPH in International Public Health from the University of Liverpool. She believes strongly in the interconnectedness of people, animals and the environment, and how they all relate to our overall health. Professionally, Melissa is the founder of Active For Life. A company promoting brain and body health and wellness through dance, exercise, music and education for all- from individuals living with neurodegenerative diseases to corporate groups. Melissa is a strong animal rights advocate and environmentalist. In her spare time she enjoys exercising her other passions such as dancing, hiking, rock climbing, travelling, surfing, spending time outdoors, reading, and spending time with her two dogs, family and friends. Melissa is ecstatic to be a part of FTLOP and to see this wonderful cause and organization grow to help as many of our distant primate cousins as possible.
